Kristen Meyer is a prop stylist and designer living and working in New Haven, Connecticut, USA. I saw her works a couple of years ago for the first time and immediately bookmarked it. Some time ago I came across her works again and decided that now it’s Toombes time.
In her works, she cleverly plays with common materials to create beautiful mosaics. In her hands, numerous raw ingredients such as cream crackers, flowers, leaves and plants, eggshells, fruits, and stones just to name a few, turns into something totally different. I love how she takes these objects out of their normal context and destroys their normal entity by usually cutting them and then arranges the pieces and cleverly uses the negative space to create mesmerizing and very detailed geometric shapes and patterns.
