Quick hello Marko, can you tell a bit about yourself?
Hi, I’m Marko Köppe, from the north of Germany. I collage life, my life – I’m collecting fragments, putting them together, trying to make something new, which is more than one pic.
What are you doing/working on at this moment?
I try to live, to survive, as everyone else. I’m trying to create something that transforms my feelings, trying to find something that´s more than reality, trying to dream.
What inspires you the most at this moment?
I’m influenced by culture and nature. Art, music, literature (currently I love the books by Imre Kertész, great reflections on human existence).
And I love proverbs:

So I live in the contradiction between the infinite and the finite of existence here, which threatens to tear you apart. Not taking this and precisely this too seriously is what drives me forward.
Many years ago I read about an artist’s portrait that he had to do, and I share that too.
Specifically, I’m mostly on the search, looking for meaning, expanding the horizon, looking for new image compositions, and recipes for designing a picture, and especially the collage with its cheeky, anarchic core offers many possibilities. I’ll try them out, play around with them and see what comes out. The process, of trying things out, the realm of the uncertain, the unpredictable often plays a major role. Having a good time. Surprise yourself and if you still like it in the end, all the better if not, who paints one Mona Lisa after the other or writes one world hit, super novel after the other.
Being immersed in your activity, the flow is the gift.
What’s your favorite personal work at this moment?
I’m influenced by some old and new (the web is full of fantastic stuff) artwork I saw or have done – it´s always the actual piece I´m working on. My best pic is the one that I will create tomorrow.
Any future plans/happenings you want to share?
The attempt to survive between all these reluctant poles, to surprise, inspire or at least distract myself and others with new images and maybe find a piece of happiness…
And otherwise, it would be nice if we could fill the saying that we only borrowed the world from our children with meaning… yes, sometimes I’m a dreamer too.
